On Wednesday BSA troop 223 had an open house evening with everything – with all included. The menu was hotdogs and the entertainment was a pure tour de force through the American history.

Amongst the entertainment was a hard core drag show – and as such troop 223 had been extended with 3 guide members as well as boys for a short while. The audience replied with enthusiastic applause and loud roars of laughter.

BSA troop 223 has a tradition of visiting Denmark and its friendship group, the YMCA-scouts from Ensted. The first visit from the US took place in 1979, and since then the two groups have joined up and participated in all “Blå Sommer-arrangements” (DDS national camps) and Jamboree Denmark 2012.

The scouts really like the Danish cuisine. Amongst them is Paul, who never visited the country before. He loves the Danish food. He finds it difficult to prepare even though the recipes are easy to follow. He is however inexperienced in a kitchen, and hence challenged at his cooking skills every day.
